Literacy Lifelines

Young Poet's Word of the Month Poems - Encourage students from grades 3-12 to join the challenge of writing a poem inspired by a single word. Each month a new word is posted. The challenge is to think about the word until it inspires a poem. Poems can be long or short, funny or serious. It doesn't matter. The idea is to encourage young writers to have fun and try their luck. A teacher can select up to three student poems and post them on a blog where a lot of others can see them. For more information go to davidlharrison.wordpress.com, you´ll find the spot above the posting that says Young Poet´s Word of the Month Poems. Click on that and see the guidelines and the place where you can post your class´s poems.
